SKULL+HAIR

by Lisa Lunsford

Great ideas breakthrough in varied ways—sometimes through the rare genius who sees possibilities no one has ever seen before, sometimes from a person of such perseverance and commitment that giving up was never an option, and sometimes a great idea comes from a unique story, a story that leads one to believe it could only have happened at this time and in this way. Such is the nature of the SKULAIR® story.

The Story

Lisa Lunsford was diagnosed with a regurgitating aortic murmur

When she was 9 years-old. This meant a different life than her peers; no athletics, no long bike rides, no action. Then at the age of 28 years old, Lisa was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She underwent a surgery that removed 3x2x1cm from the left center of her brain. This area is the semantic memory area.

The surgery inspired and motivated her

She graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Dallas stating “I do not have a disability, I have a “dif-ability (different ability).”

Lisa is a “doer” – she is defined by action. Lisa was the first female in her family to receive a college degree. She was the first civilian to be permanently placed in munitions as an instructor, Level 3, in the United States Air Force, and she was the only civilian munitions instructor in the USAF at that time.

Lisa’s medical situation forced her to leave her position with the Air Force. But, she realized – “Life is Short, Have Fun!”

She bought a Harley-Davidson and traveled to seasonal resorts and National Parks all across the USA

“LIFE IS SHORT – HAVE FUN”

SKULAIR® designer line of headgear products were developed by a lady with long hair who loves to ride motorcycles. After touring the U.S., she saw the need and she filled the void for functional headgear in the marketplace.

During these intense four years

Lisa had opportunities to develop relationships with a wide variety of people who have inspired and assisted her in reaching her dream to help veterans.
